February 2020

--

Dearest eNews readers,

For this month’s newsletter I chose a small meditation from a workshop given in the Netherlands in 2009. While I was searching through our extensive archive, I also came across these two sentences by MM:

“When you do a little something that can  make you happy you arouse a big healing and unifying energy within yourself.
Don't think that by worrying you are doing something important for yourself and the world. On the contrary, by daring to draw from the happiness within you, you are creating many good and great things in your life as well as energetically on a global level.”

Meditation for the full moon of 9th February 2020

Master Morya,

"It is good to try to live with joy and you should know that each person is responsible for their own happiness. Do not expect that it is mainly your partner, your neighbour, your children or your mother, father or grandmother who should make you happy. This is of course possible, but not in the main. Essentially, each individual person is responsible for his or her own happiness. This is something you should realize because in the struggle of daring to find happiness you do indeed have to learn to be yourself, learn to love yourself and learn to do your own things.

Now, in this short five-minute meditation, no longer, I would like you to try and go back to a moment of happiness in your life, a moment you spontaneously recall, such as: ‘when I heard that, when this came into my life or when that happened, then I was terribly happy, really and truly happy.’

You may perhaps think that that moment of happiness didn’t last long, but it doesn’t matter. Simply going back to that one moment of real joy, of pure happiness in your life is enough to in a certain way recharge you, to focus your life, as it were, on the fact that such moments are indeed possible. And these moments, each moment you can recall in your life when you were happy, are precious and you should cherish them, you should carry them around with you as a little something to keep you warm, as a little bit of peace, as an ideal, as something that will help you to go further.

Because in those moments of happiness you can definitely know who you are, unlike moments of sadness, those are not moments when you can learn to know who you are. But when you feel truly happy, when you really know: ‘now I’m truly happy!’, that is when you learn to know yourself and this is very important.

Therefore, take the time to calmly and freely go to a little bit of peace there in your heart, to a past moment of happiness – and cherish that moment. Tell God how grateful you are for this moment and then let it go; because it is also important to realize that: ‘this moment nourished me, it made me into who I am, it brought me further in my life; I am thankful for it but now I will let it go. I’ll make room within myself for new experiences, new experiences of happiness, of peace, of deepening, of beauty.’ It is important to dare to do this.

And now let us be in silence for five minutes; and after five minutes Geert will let us know that the meditation is finished."
