Dearest eNews readers,
On the 20th of February just past, my father would have turned 74. It seemed at first to be a day like any other, except for a few small but striking 'coincidences' through which my father showed that he is never far away. There are some days when I wonder, 'what if things had been different?', but I know better than to feel rebellious about how life is. "I make peace with the Earth, I make peace with my life, I make peace with myself" is a thought we should begin every meditation with because how can you connect with the Earth if you are actually fighting with it? At certain times it may seem unnatural and almost impossible to, despite everything, choose for peace, but still it is the most pleasant path to pick, and also the most interesting one. And as Master Morya says below, not only so for yourself but also for those around you, and even for the world. When you choose for peace, regardless of everything, then the world really does become the better for it, which is something I, too, have become convinced of in the last few years. Meditation for the full moon of 2nd March 2018
Master Morya,
“Even if life is difficult, you should still try to find this peace, this concentration, in order to say: “This is my life.” However difficult it may be at times to hold your own in this world, you should still try to have your life in hand, calmly and peacefully. Even when it is very difficult, you should still try to retain this peace. And this is what you need to understand: if you have peace in your heart you can mean a great deal to others.
Humanity’s greatest problem is that often there is no peace in a person’s heart. This makes that there is room for hate, for blame, for resentment, for an energy that is not bound and which is actually such that it will work destructively. If, however, there would be peace in your heart, then you would be working for the world and for its development. Instead of breaking down you are then building up.
This is what is interesting, that people are capable of helping to develop this great world, and this happens when you can find peace in your own heart. Each heart, each person able of finding this peace in his or her own life, is helping to build the world, it is that simple. If you can find this peace in your heart you will understand what your task is here in this world. It does not have to be something big, but you will be in a state of development.
Each time you can console those people who are near to you and who cannot see how to go on, or if you can offer them a kind word, or if you can do something for someone else, something that can help them to find some peace, more or less, then you are busy in the right way. Because the whole Earth is asking for peace, it yearns for peace; it yearns for the openness that can only be found in the hearts of people.”
